Pranlas Descours Architect & Associates (PDAA) has recently completed the Black Diamond, a mixed-used project with offices, sports facilities and a silo car park in a new urban district of the city of Lille, the Rives de la Haute-Deûle Euratechnologie.
Located by a large expanse of water, the aquatic park looks like a world that has emerged from the lake. Its origami form is an extension of the surrounding landscape. Culminating at around 35m, it offers spectacular views, becoming a symbol and a reference landmark of Villages Nature. The structure plays with the transparency and offers a new experience to the visitors, allowing a roof promenade made of waterfalls, mist, steam and aquatic plants that also help oxygenating the lake.
