Rémy MARCIANO imagined the transformation of “L’HEXAGONE” into a “learning center”, an innovative and suitable building for the university campus of Marseille. The project, in this emblematic building of Luminy, will offer the students of the Marseillais campus a new place of life, exchange and sharing.

This “learning center” was designed as an attractive, lively and suitable place.
It will include a large university library, a projection room, an open space, a coffee bar, student living services.
The Hexagon is a generous place that favors the appropriation by all the public.
Beyond the program, the spaces of transitions, patios, terraces, terraces and circulations are conceived as real places of reception, meetings, relaxation.
These more informal places will encourage its appropriation and a natural continuity of a generous landscape at the gates of the creeks.

By its open and crossing character, it offers a route through the entire Campus. Its porous facades like limestone rocks of the creeks, composed of white sunshades with a vertical rhythm, interact directly with the exceptional nature of Luminy. Open to the modes of learning and exchange of today and tomorrow, its spaces are adapted to new behaviors (nomadism, e-learning, MOOC) in connection in particular with digital and new technologies.

The Learning Center also offers original spaces, more “welcoming” places such as the patio and terraces, “bubble work”, etc. The 360 ° University library offers a high quality of comfort with consultation spaces benefiting from natural light shaded by the sunshades and a terrace for lovers of outdoor reading! e-learning, MOOC) in particular with digital and new technologies.
